Easy Navigation
For the industry that you operate in, you need to have the following pages on your website which visitors can easily access in order to proceed with the conversion that you have set out as the current goal for you website to achieve. Easy navigation means happy clients.
Home – More than often this will be the page that your visitor initially lands on. If they ever want to return to this page, they can click the ‘Home’ button on your website’s menu. It is also standard practice these days that your website logo acts as a button for the home page.
About – This is where you can really position yourself as the expert and confirms with the visitor that you are indeed the person they need in order to help them. This page can include items such as your experience, certifications, awards won and anything else that can confirm with the visitor they should book a consultation or appointment with you. Bonus Tip: Make sure to include a button on the about page that allows the visitor to follow the next logical step, such as a ‘Book Appointment’ button at the bottom or side of the page.
Services/Treatments/Products –What exactly do you offer that can assist the website visitor in resolving the issue they are currently having? For example, a chiropractor could be somebody who can offer treatment for back pain to one particular client, but neck pain treatment to a different client, yet both website visitors are on the same website, both with confirmation that they are getting the correct treatment they need, from the one specialist.
Book Appointment/Shop – This will differ depending on the type of service that you offer. In some cases you could even offer both, such as a dentist, who you could book an appointment with but also purchase specific teeth cleaning products directly from their website. Bonus Tip: You can have subscription based products for recurring revenue.
Contact – This is arguably one of the most important pages on your website. Once you have correctly positioned yourself as the expert to the website visitor and they have their own confirmation that you are indeed the person they need who can help to resolve their issue, they will want to know how to get in touch with you. This page should include the following:
Phone Number, Email Address, Contact Form, Map Location and also Opening Hours.
When creating the copy (text) for each page of your website, try to think what the potential client has initially searched on Google to find you. Did they do a search for ‘Dentist in Dundrum’, or perhaps they searched ‘Where to get teeth white treatment in Dublin’.
You can use these ‘keywords’ on the pages of your website to help show up in search results. Don’t ‘Keyword Stuff’ your pages either though as this will actually penalise you in Google search results. Remember to also include it in your image alt-tag for better results.
